Paycento privacy policy
Pre-amble
This is the Paycento Privacy Policy that governs the private and public beta of Paycento. It will be replaced with an updated version when launching officially. Please check back regularly for updates. You may be informed on updates through the Paycento blog (http://blog.paycento.com) or through your Paycento message box after logging in.
Definitions
Paycento is this website which provides ways to make transactions between Merchants and Users.
Merchants are users of Paycento that interact with Paycento for the purpose of selling goods and services.
Users are persons that use Paycento to make payments for goods and services that Merchants provide.
Collection and Use of Information
Paycento may collect personally identifiable information for the purpose allowing you to use the services of Paycento and for risk management purposes. Paycento will NOT sell any personally identifiable information.
Paycento will not share this information with third parties unless where obliged by law.
Paycento may collect and log transaction information that you generate for historical reference. It may use this data internally for risk management purposes as well as for analytics.
Paycento may share aggregate user information with Merchants for analytics. Aggregate information is information that describes the habits, usage patterns, and demographics of users as a group but does not describe or reveal the identity of any particular user.
By itself Merchants have no access to personally identifiable information as collected by Paycento, when you make transactions.
When you provide personally identifiable information, like name, credit card information etc., with third parties like payment service providers then this is only for the purpose of making the transaction and loading the wallet.
Paycento itself does not keep your financial information like credit card data.
Restricted use of information and cookies
Other than the information you have provided to Paycento, Paycento also stores certain information about the way you use the Paycento Service. This information is generally stored in Paycento’s database but to store some of this information Paycento makes use of cookies, both through the Paycento website as through Paycento’s plugin that is installed on the merchant’s website.
Paycento does not expose any personally identifiable information through the plugin or cookies set by the plug-in on the merchant’s website.
Contacting
Paycento may contact you by e-mail or telephone during and after registration to validate your identity. You may receive mails to confirm your purchases. Paycento can also send you e-mails with service information about Paycento or commercial offers from Paycento.
